Entry #120 - Preggo

Yes, it's true. We are preggers! This was totally and completely unexpected. We're about to hit 15 weeks, and Jocelin is finally getting past the nausea. This is especially good news for me because up until now, I've had to eat all of my meals outside of the house. Otherwise, Jocelin will start yelling at me because of the smells. I either have to: (1) eat my food cold (which I have done plenty of) or (2) heat up my food really fast and run outside, hopefully before she knows what is going on. If she catches me, she'll be like, "WHAT is that SMELL?" and I'll reply, "Uh... Rice? You know, that food that you've eaten EVERY SINGLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE?"

Her new superhuman sense of smell has affected my life in a big way. Not only am I not supposed to eat in her presence, but anytime I cook anything I get into trouble, and anytime I clean anything I also get into trouble. Several times in the car she has asked me to stop breathing. "Can you stop breathing, please? It's not BAD breath... it's just... BREATH."

So since we've gotten preggers, I've had to stop cooking, eating, cleaning, and breathing. Other than that, I'm handling pregnancy pretty well.

Here are the most common questions we've received since announcing our pregnancy:

1. Were you guys trying?

Nope. We were just having lots of sex.

2. Do you have any names picked out?

Nope. So far, we disagree on any and all names. Except for what we call it now - lil' MJ.

3. Is being pregnant bad for Jocelin's health? Isn't she not supposed to get pregnant with her medication?

Wow! You remembered! Yes, it's true that while Jocelin was taking tamoxifen, we weren't supposed to get pregnant. It's not that it makes you unable to get pregnant, you're just not supposed to get pregnant. But we've always had problems getting pregnant anyway, so we didn't take preventative measures because we didn't think getting pregnant was going to be an issue. But now that we are, Jocelin stopped taking the medication and the oncologist is totally fine with that. In fact, he is happy for us!

4. Why are you writing this blog instead of Jocelin?

One word - LAZINESS. Jocelin was super excited to tell all of you out there who lurk on the interwebs (back in week 8!), but she has been majorly procrastinating. Finally, she was like, ok, can you just let everyone know through Facebook or something? LOL.
